How partner attribution, commission and payouts work
These terms explain how a customer is credited to you, what you earn on the Recurring and One-Time Commission Plans, and when and how you are paid. They sit alongside the SagaMail Partner Agreement. If the two differ, the Partner Agreement applies.
Joining the programme
- Joining is free. There is no minimum sales target to stay a partner.
- You sign up with your business details, PAN, and GSTIN if you are GST-registered. We may verify these before activating your account.
- Once approved, you get a Partner Console and a permanent partner code.
- You pay the same domain and email prices listed on our website. There is no deposit and no minimum order.
How a customer becomes yours
A customer is credited to you in one of three ways. The way they join decides which commission plan applies.
You create the client and buy their domain and email plan from your console. You manage the account.
Recurring Commission PlanYou send a single-use invite link from your console, valid for 30 days. The client is created under your console.
Recurring Commission PlanThe client signs up and pays with your permanent partner code. The client manages their own account.
One-Time Commission PlanA customer can be credited to only one partner at a time. If two partners claim the same customer, the earliest valid attribution wins.
Adding a code after signup
- A customer who signed up without a code can add yours within 30 days of signup, once only. The customer must enter it themselves from their account.
- After 30 days, a code can be attached only by our support team, with a written reason from the customer.
- Customers who enter a partner code get 5 GB of extra storage free for their first year.
- One-time commission is paid on the customer's first paid order made after the code is added.
Customers that don't count
No commission is paid for:
- customers who were already paying SagaMail before you referred them;
- customers our sales team was already in contact with, or who came from our own campaigns, before your attribution;
- your own business accounts, or accounts of your company's directors and employees for their own use;
- accounts created only to earn commission, or orders that are cancelled, charged back or fraudulent.
Recurring Commission Plan
For clients created in your console or through an invite link. You earn on the first purchase and on every renewal, for as long as the client stays with you.
| What the client buys | You earn | When |
|---|---|---|
| Email plans billed for 1, 2 or 4 years | 15% – 30% by your slab | Every purchase and renewal |
| Email plans billed monthly | 5% of each payment | Every month the client pays |
| Domains up to ₹10,000/yr | 10% of the domain price | For every year registered or renewed |
| Domains above ₹10,000/yr | ₹1,500 per year (fixed) | For every year registered or renewed |
Domain renewals earn the same commission as new registrations.
One-Time Commission Plan
For clients who sign up and pay with your partner code. You earn a higher amount once, on the client's first order. Renewals do not earn commission.
| What the client buys | You earn once |
|---|---|
| Email plans billed for 1, 2 or 4 years | 25% – 40% of the first order, by your slab |
| Email plans billed monthly | Paid when the client first moves to a 1, 2 or 4-year plan |
| Domains up to ₹10,000/yr | 15% of the domain price × years in the first registration |
| Domains above ₹10,000/yr | ₹2,000 × years in the first registration (fixed) |
One-time earnings are added to the same monthly payout as recurring earnings.
Commission slabs
Your slab sets the percentage you earn on email plans. It is based on the number of paid 1, 2 or 4-year email plans you brought in over the last 12 months, across both commission plans.
| Slab | Paid email plans (last 12 months) | Recurring | One-time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 1 – 10 | 15% | 25% |
| Silver | 11 – 50 | 20% | 30% |
| Gold | 51 – 150 | 25% | 35% |
| Platinum | 151 or more | 30% | 40% |
- When you reach a higher slab, the new rate applies from the following month to new purchases and renewals.
- Slabs are reviewed every quarter, so one slow month never lowers your rate.
- Monthly plans, and the free email IDs that come with a domain, do not count towards your slab.
- Domain commission is the same on every slab.
How commission is calculated
- Commission is calculated on the amount the customer actually pays, after any discounts, and excluding GST.
- Email plans and domains are charged at the prices listed on our website. How you price and bill your own services to your clients is up to you.
- Commission appears in your Partner Console as soon as the payment succeeds.
When commission stops
Recurring commission on a client stops when:
- the client stops paying or cancels their plan;
- the client moves to direct billing with SagaMail, or to another partner;
- you leave the programme, or your partner account is closed.
Commission you have already earned is not taken back, except for commission on payments that fail, are refunded or are charged back. Those amounts are adjusted in your next payout.
Payouts, TDS and GST
- We send a statement of your earnings on the 1st of every month, for the previous month.
- Your balance is paid by bank transfer by the 10th of the month, once it is above ₹1,000. Smaller balances carry forward.
- TDS is deducted as required by Indian income tax rules, and we issue a TDS certificate for each quarter.
- If you are GST-registered, you raise a tax invoice to Sagasoft Technologies Pvt Ltd for your monthly commission, and GST is paid on top.
- If you think a statement is wrong, tell us within 60 days of receiving it.
Partner code rules
- Partner codes are 4–12 letters and numbers, and are not case-sensitive.
- A code must not resemble SagaMail, Sagasoft or any other brand.
- A code is locked once a customer has used it.
- You must not bid on SagaMail brand terms in paid search, use your code in spam, or offer cash back to customers for using it.
Client ownership
- We do not market to or upsell customers credited to you, other than service messages and notices we are required to send.
- If a client decides to leave your agency, their account moves to direct billing with SagaMail. Nothing is deleted, and we tell you before the move.
Leaving the programme
- You can leave at any time by emailing us. We pay your final balance with the next payout, even if it is below ₹1,000.
- We may close a partner account that breaks these terms, for example through spam, misleading claims or fraudulent accounts. Commission linked to the breach is not paid.
Changes to these terms
- We may change rates or rules with 30 days' notice by email.
- Changes never reduce commission you have already earned.
- If you don't agree with a change, you can leave the programme and receive your final balance.
